PASSAIC COUNTY COMPUTER AND ELECTRONICS

COLLECTION EVENT ANNOUNCED

WAYNE - Passaic County Office of Recycling and Natural Resource Programs will hold a two-day Computer and Electronics Recycling collection event for used computers and electronic equipment. The program is free to residents. Businesses must pre-register and there is a nominal fee.

The event will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, Friday, September 25 for businesses and residents. The second day is for residents only 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, Saturday, September 26.

Both events are at the Passaic County Para-Transit Facility, 1310 Route 23 north in Wayne, located behind Ski Barn.

There is a limit of 2 televisions and 2 computers per household.

“We are asking all Passaic County residents and business to show their support for recycling,” said Nina Seiden, Passaic County Solid Waste and Recycling Programs Administrator. “By recycling unwanted computers and electronic equipment, we will keep them out of our diminishing landfills and keep toxics such as lead, mercury and cadmium from entering our groundwater.”

Residents may bring computer systems, modems, telephones, copiers, printers, CD players, stereo systems, televisions, radios and fax machines.

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers and dryers will not be accepted.

Advanced Recovery, Inc. of Port Jervis, N.Y. will provide services.

Call 973-305-5738 to pre-register.
