REVOLUTIONARY WAR ENCAMPMENT SET FOR DEY MANSION
WAYNE A Revolutionary War Encampment will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25 at Dey Mansion in Wayne.
The two-day event will celebrate colonial living. Dey Mansion, located at 199 Totowa Road, was General George Washingtons headquarters for three month in 1780 during the Revolutionary War.
This annual October encampment will feature a main battle at 2 p.m. on each day. In addition, there will be militia drills, hearth cooking, 18th century dancing and blacksmithing throughout the two-day event.
Admission is $1.00 per person.
Dey Mansion is a 1740 Georgian house, which is owned and operated by the Passaic County Department of Parks and Recreation. It is furnished with 18th century antiques.
Tour hour for the historic house are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 1 to 4 p.m. with the last tour at 3:30 p.m. Tours are also available Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. with the last tour at 3:30 p.m.
Group tours are available by appointment only. Admission is $1.00
