Volunteers Needed to Help
Seniors and Disabled Residents With
Taxes
The
Somerset County Office of Volunteer Services is looking for volunteers to
provide free tax counseling for older adults and disabled residents in the
county.
Volunteers
must be 18 or older. Free training will
be provided.
Assistance
is provided annually to seniors and disabled for federal and New Jersey state
income-tax returns and for the Property Tax Rebate Program. The program is sponsored by the AARP, the
U.S. Internal Revenue Service and the Somerset County Office of Volunteer
Services. Appointments will be scheduled
Feb. 1 through April 15, 2012, at convenient locations around the county.
