Antique Appraisathon at Warrenbrook Senior Center

WARREN – Do you have antiques that you’d like to have appraised? A registered antiques appraiser who has appeared on several televised “Road Show” events will be at the Warrenbrook Senior Center, located at 500 Warrenville Road, for an “Antiques Appraisathon” from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6.

Because there is a limit to the number of items that can be appraised in two hours, individuals are encouraged to register in advance by calling (908) 753-9440. A donation is suggested in the amount of $3 for one item, or $5 for two items.

Doug Reeder, an established antiques dealer, will appraise objects presented by the public at Warrenbrook on Monday.  Reeder is a member of the American Organization of Licensed Dealers and Appraisers and the American Philatelic Society.  A past president of the Associated Antiques Dealers of New Jersey, he sells antiques at Elysium Antiques in Somerville and other selected venues in Summit and New York City.

The Warrenbrook Senior Center, one of seven centers operated by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, is accessible to individuals with disabilities.  The senior center offers a variety of educational, recreational and entertaining activities for seniors, including wellness programs and health screenings.

If you wish to make a lunch reservation, please contact the senior center by 10 a.m. at least one business day in advance.  Warrenbrook offers both hot and cold lunches, with meat and meatless menu options for both.  A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and above.  The cost of lunch for those under age 60 is $5.35.

For more information or to register, contact Manager Gwen Chalker, Warrenbrook Senior Center, at (908) 753-9440.
