Project Description

The applicant, Kenneth Namimatso, for HKN, II, LLC, is proposing convert an existing 21,139-square-foot office building from general office use to medical office use in the C-1 (Administrative and Professional, Restrictive) zoning district. The conversion from general office use to medical office use requires a use permit in the C-1 zoning district because there are no permitted uses allowed in the district.

Required Review

The proposed project will require preparation of a traffic study and review and approval by the Planning Commission.

Project History

The Planning Commission and City Council have conducted study meetings on the proposed project. The Planning Commission's meeting was held on April 19, 2004. The City Council met on May 4, 2004. Following the Council's meeting, the Council requested that staff conduct additional research on future uses in the Linfield/Middlefield/Willow area. This information was presented to the Council on June 22, 2004. At this meeting, the Council requested that staff prepare a work plan for a study of the Linfield/Middlefield/Willow area that assesses the neighborhoods concerns.. This work plan was reviewed by the Council in October 2004.  On January 10, 2005, the Planning Commission approved a request for exterior modifications to the existing building at 8 Homewood Place.  The review did not include consideration of the proposed change of use of the building from general office use to medical office use.  The applicant wished to have the use permit required for medical office use reviewed separately.   The neighborhood outreach will be conducted in Aapril 2005.  Please see the project page for the Linfield/Middlefield/Willow neighborhood outreach for more information.

Current Status

Staff is currently reviewing the application. A Traffic Study is required to determine the level of environmental review for the project. A meeting schedule will be developed for the project following the completion of the environmental review; please call or check the website often for changes.
